Travelling? Stranded? Use Rule 240

Now this is a bit different. I was doing some reading just now and stumbled to this fact here. If you are traveling to some destination using a plane, then you involve in some difficulty situation like for example flight delayed, cancelled or you miss a connecting flight, what would you do?

Two words, shout loudly “RULE 204″.

If it’s the airline’s fault that your flight is delayed or canceled or you missed your connection, whip out a copy of their Rule 240. They shall put you on the next available flight or be condemned by their own policy.

Rule 240 refers to the “conditions of carriage” which specify the circumstances in which you’re entitled to airline compensation.

You can get meal vouchers, a hotel room, be booked on a substitute flight, or be given a full or partial refund.

Note that these rules are precluded by weather, war or other events outside the airline’s control. But they’re all good for things like scheduling snafus, mechanical failure, and general incompetence.
