Famous Amos Secret Recipes Cookie
This could be your kuih raya for this Syawal. I got this mailed to me earlier this week. I dont have any picture for these though. But if you manage to make them. Do mail to me the cookie. Sharing is not a crime.
Ladies,
Try the recipe.. buat kuih raya..
…when you go to Famous Amos Café, Bangsar
This is a true story
My daughter and I had just finished a muffin at
Famous Amos Café in Bangsar & decided to
have some cookies. Because both of us are such
a cookie lovers, we decided to try the “Hawaiian
Nut Cookie”.
It was so excellent that I asked if they would give
me the recipe and the waitress said with a small
frown “I’m afraid cannot”. Well I said, “Would you
let me buy the recipe?”
With a cute smile, she said “YES”. I asked how
much and she responded, “only two fifty, it’s a
great deal!” I said with approval, “Just add it to my
bill”
Thirty days later, I received my VISA statement
from Famous Amos and it was RM285.00 . I
looked again and remembered I had only spent
RM9.95 for two muffins and about RM20.00 for a
pie. As I glanced at the bottom of the statement, it
said, “cookie recipe – RM250.00″. That’s
outrages!!!
I called the Famous Amos’s Accounting Dept. and
told them that the waitress said it was “two-fifty”,
which clearly does not mean “two hundred and fifty
dollars” by any POSSIBLE interpretation of the
phrase. Famous Amos refused to budge.. They
would not refund my money, because according to
them, “What the waitress told you is not our
problem. You have already seen the recipe – we
absolutely will not refund your money at this point.”
I explain to her the criminal statues which govern
fraud in Malaysia. I threatened to refer them to
police for engaging in fraud. I was basically
told, “Do what you want, we don’t care, and we’re
not refunding your money.” I waited for a moment,
thinking of how I could get even, or even try to get
any of my money back. I just said, “Okay, you
people got my RM2-50.00, and now I’m going to
have a RM250.00 worth of fun.”
I told her that I was going to see to it that every
cookie lover in Malaysia with an email account
has a RM250.00 cookie recipe from Famous
Amos…for free… She replied, “I wish you wouldn’t
do this” I said, “Well you should have thought of
that before you stole from me”, and slammed
down the phone on her.
So, here it is!!! Please, please please pass it on
to everyone you can possibly think of. I paid
RM250.00 dollars for this…I don’t want Famous
Amos to ever get another cent off of this recipe…..
Recipe may be halved:
2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups brown sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal (measure oatmeal &
blend in blender
to a fine powder)
24 oz. chocolate chips
1 tsp. salt
18 oz. Cadbury bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
2 tsp. vanilla
cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and
vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt,
baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips,
Cadbury bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place
two inches apart on a cookie sheet.. bake for 10
minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 122 cookies..
Have fun..!!

i want to know how it looks like
This is an urban legend that has been on the net for years! It’s a good cookie (Don’t know about this recipe as it’s stated, looks like way too much oatmeal) but it’s not Famous Amos, or _________ (add your oun major cookie maker) Sorry!
must be much betterrr than famous amous..
I received this recipe from a friend a long time ago but never tried it until about a month ago. Some friends, at first bite, said it tastes like Famous Amos cookies. One said it was very nice but not quite Famous Amos but the majority of the people who have tried it love it.
so in conclusion doesn’t matter if its famous amos or not
any cookies that taste nice is cool for my stomach:)
OMG! Totally gotta try this recipe! I’ll take some pictures if I had baked it!
(: thx f0r sharing! <33
thanks for the recipe. but, if you happen to have any, do write in your blog again. i’ll drop by sometime yeah. btw, im from Singapore. (: thanks once again.
Hi, wherever the recipe was from, the texture and the taste are very close to the famous amos cookies that I normally buy “Crunchy Macadamia Choc Chip Cookie”. I only need to make the oatmeal finer. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Love it!!! I guess if those people are not told that the cookies are not from FA, they wouldn’t know anyway ;p
But, geez… 1/4 of the recipe still made a lot of cookies.
this taste like famous amos! seriously. but i added more flour minus baking power and soda to have nicer look. i use normal flour mix with corn flour, custard flour and tapioca flour to make it crunchy.
put a lil bit of cream of tartar…more cruchier….just a suggestion
[...] back in cold cold moscow, i’ve been trying out my hand in baking as well. there’s this knock off famous amous recipe that we’ve been using since we were kids that is a guaranteed success. and the recipe for the [...]

I heard this same story about the Nordstrom Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. It was billed to someone for $250.00. Odd it’s the same story and the same price, just a different cookie. Makes you wonder if either of them are true!
I am quite surprised what happened. Did she misunderstood with two-fifty to RM2.50 which was actually RM250 or is the total amount is wrong? But anyway thanks for sharing ^^
thank you for the famous amos Secret Recipes Cookie; but just a question , what kind of flour do you use ? and what kind of butter do you use ? and 5 cups blended oatmeal is it only the oatmeal itself blended ? sorry if I asked to much I’m new in baking. please and thank you please do reply dying to try making cookies =)
LOL! let me tell you something, i’ve checked the other websites, and i’ve also found the same exact recipe that you bought form the famous amos store. this shows that not only you’ve been cheated by your money, you are actually dumb. no offence, to tell you the truth, you should have just browse through the net to get the recipe. trust me, it wont cost a cent like you paid for
but hey, dont feel regret. just look at the bright side of life.
YOU SHOULD HAVE NOT BUY THE RECIPE!!

but thanks anyway for sharing (eventhough i can get it at other websites)
love,
leanne
u are the one who’s DUMB! why dun u juz b grateful 4 the recipe and bake some, if u r so much into baking cookies s u claimed!
Huh.. i guess this is just a cut and paste from sumwer…
Wow thanks i’ll send it to a million if i can!
Well done!!!! This serves them right for robbing you in broad daylight!!!! Thanks for posting this recipe online!! Now i dont need to buy cookies at the exaggerating price!!! =)
wow…this leanne must be a dumbass. didnt she read the whole post…this is a circulating email. not this poster’s experience! DUMBASS
I think that this is a joke. Famous Amos WOULD NOT sell their cookie recipe for that price? What were they thinking? Or this story is just made up for fun!

thanks for the recipe !!!
i’ve heard about this story…tapi bukan kat malaysia…..
Famous Amos is a well established company. And all the dough are imported. There are no such thing as recipes being circulated on the web or even sold at the streets. All cookie taste the same, its just the extra special ingredient that kicks in the x-factor and the quality of ur oven.
I baru nak try mlm ni. TQ for the recipe..
Wishing You Happy Aidul Fitri. Thanks for the recipe. My kids love cookies…so i better try your recipe. If you ought to have any other cookies recipe please post it to your blog. Thank you and have a wonderful day…

that’s a total lie….I happen to have a copy of the original recipe that goes back BEFORE Wally became famous, and what you’ve posted here is NOT the recipe
I’m just wondering, if the the lady and her daughter has tasted the cookie, apparently they’ve purchased it on the spot, right? Why is it not on the Visa Statement then? Hmm… smells fishy.. anyone??
Kat, Would you please share the original recipe with us? Please?

What ever tha story is, it sound familar,
anyway you will not get the Famous Amos taste cos there is a secret ingredient that give the great smell and taste
thanks for the recipe…i trying it right now..
just so u know.. those dough are brought direct frm us.. and no one knows the receipe.. this is just urban legend.. but feel free to try..
the lady paid by visa and she should know the price charged during signing the bill…..no suprise.
next time if this happen to u or anybody out there u should report it to tribunal pengguna, they will help u settle the case.
Hi. I’m trying to make these cookies. Just that i dunno the actual quantity of the ingredients. U mentioned 3 cups of this, 4 cups of that. I’m confused on how big the cup is? Can u tell me the ingredients in Gram? That will really help.
u just search in google and type conversion from cups to grams, then u will find the answer…dat’s what i do and it really works!:)
syg famous amos
I ve tried the receipe…for twice…but i think it s quite sweet lar…i think…3/4 of granulated sugar would be ok..but anyhow…thanks to kak intan for the delicious and crunchy munchy cookies….tapi kalau letak 2 teaspoon of golden syrup pun bertambah sodap..kalau adalah….it will smell really nice….and really mouth watering…May Allah bless kak Intan for sharing the receipe with all of us…
Obviously, the recepi for the famous amos cookies cost alot. Imagine if everyone knew about it, it wouldnt be a cookie from a famous amos anymore. They sold thousands of it a day due to their delicious cookies. Its great that u r sharing this recepi to others, and im sure they’ll love this. But on the other hand, u also have to think about what will happened next if everyone knows their secret, i bet they will close down one day. Its about quality and pride of their cookie recepi that they are afraid of. But nevertheless, u bought it, u asked for it, u misintrepreted the cost which is RM250, u got the recepi that u want, u should just be happy about it and not treat them like that..
its just an opinion..
hey lina why dont put your foot in her shoes and see how its feels like being ‘cheated’. feel sorry but thanks alot to kak intan. cheers…
So surprised u got the recipe..anyway i just got to know bout ur blog recipe, quite like to try it out today..btw my small oven temp max 280 degree celcius…,??
2 fifty is 250.are u stupid or what?she didnt say 2 ringgit 50 cents, its either u neglected to accept ure stupid ,or ure pointing ur finger to everyone else surrounds you,or should i say,EGOISTIC.so,get a fucking life, btw, thanks to u, got my biscuit recipe..
Oh,btw,if two fifty means 2.50,maybe u should sue those iklan saying 1-800-56-2020202.oh wait, that doesnt concern you, because u didnt spend a dime on them.lol.
Plus,if ure smart enuff or should i say if ure 10 yrs old,2.50 is a very cheap price to pay for a great recipe, instead of going “ok”,you should be going “wow,u sure?its very cheap”
The beauty of blogging,u can EDIT.mailed,bangsar etc.bleh…losers.
Thanks for the receipe!I tried it and it is not bad.
ok its taste nice…ya should not give them sales.thanks kak intan

OMFWTFBBQHAX!95% of you are f*cking gullible! Someone already mentioned that this story is an URBAN LEGEND!!!!! A MYTH! This duplicated story has been circling since the 1980s. It all started out with Mrs. Field’s Cookies. Eventually branching out to include Macy’s, Nordstroms and now this. This URBAN LEGEND has long since been debunked. ROFLMFAO
